I’m Chris and I’ve been volunteering in sport for over 15 years. I’m passionate about elevating basketball through volunteering.

I know the difference that volunteering can make to the game at all levels. I've seen first hand the impact that volunteering can have in a sport that desperately needs more support. Volunteering your time and skills out of a passion to improve the game can be very rewarding and lead to bigger opportunities!

With PickEnrol, I see an opportunity to put in place a network that will grow the number of volunteers in basketball, helping to elevate the game. Most importantly, I see an opportunity to focus on young persons, helping to provide them with avenues to grow their skills and experiences in a basketball environment.

About
Suffolk Basketball
I've been a volunteer for Suffolk Basketball for over 15 years, currently the Chair. I initially got involved with general admin support before serving as Secretary, Local League Chair, Social Media Manager and a few other roles. I've helped make Suffolk Basketball one of the leading local leagues in the country (2024's Local League of the Year) whilst overseeing grassroots investment in the sport across the county.
BE East Region Management Committee
The East Region Management Committee is entirely voluntary and sits under Basketball England, overseeing basketball across the East Region (Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk). I've been the Secretary for three years, helping to drive improved collaboration between counties for events such as Inter County Tournaments (ICTs).
Basketball England Disciplinary Panel
I currently serve on Basketball England's Disciplinary Panel, helping to ensure that disciplinary processes are fair, consistent and proportionate. The panel is vital in helping to uphold the integrity of the sport at all levels.
Basketball Table Official
I'm a qualified Level 3 Table Official, so you might have seen me officiating at games. I work a mixture of high level senior games (SLBW, BCB and NBL) as well as junior games and local league. I'm passionate about helping to develop more officials that the game desperately needs.
Premier League Fan Advisory Board
I'm also on the Fan Advisory Board at Newcastle United, a leading Premier League football club. I work closely with club execs, supporter groups and the wider fanbase to help drive meaningful change and improve match day experiences, particularly for disabled supporters.
